Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am currently accepting insurance at this time. The insurance plans I am currently accepting are Aetna.

However, if I do not accept your insurance, I would still be able to provide therapy services to you. To help keep therapy affordable, I provide superbills for you to get reimbursed from your insurance company with your out of network benefits.

  • Currently my rate is $125 for 50 minute sessions. If you are interested in a longer session, we can discuss options during your consultation.

  • EMDR can be helpful if you have experienced trauma. You are welcome to email me a question or set up an initial free appointment to discuss details. EMDR would not be a good fit for you if you have a history of seizures, miscarriages, or if you are currently pregnant.

  • While some people prefer to use insurance because of a low co-pay, there can be many issues when considering to use insurance. Here are some problem people run into when using insurance:

    • Receiving a diagnosis that stays on your medical record

    • Insurance stating therapy is not “medically necessary” for you, so your insurance company refuses to cover your therapy expenses. This can happen in the middle of treatment

    • Insurance making the decision of what length of time you need for sessions. For example, typical therapy sessions are 45-60 mins. Some people may want a 90 minute session or be seen twice a week. Some insurance companies will not pay for those type of requests.

If you do not want to use your insurance, I am happy to accommodate your needs. Please give me a call or send me an email with any of your questions.
